Basics of good health

Health is a hotly discussed topic today. However, there are certain basics of good health. It can be classified into five major categories:

1. Physical health.
2. Mental health.
3. Emotional health.
4. Social health.
5. Spiritual health.

Now let us examine these in a little more detail.

Physical Health:

This refers to the health of our physical bodies. It depends on how well we nurture our body, look after it and maintain it. The body is the only asset that we are born with, and needs to be taken care of.

Mental Health:

Like it or not, we have a mental health. This has nothing to do with mental balance. It has everything to do with Attitude. Maintaining a positive attitude is important to keep a good mental health.

Emotional Health:

This is very closely linked with Mental health. If we laugh a lot (laughter of course, is an emotion), it helps the mind think straight and maintain a positive attitude. Also, this affects what all you like and dislike, identify with, relate to, and all such factors.

Social Health:

This determines our surroundings. Most times, we do not have control over the surroundings. A lot of this has to do with what others think of us, and a lot of this is influenced by our attitude most of the time.

Spiritual Health:

This is what we would do without bothering about the result. For instance, if you love doing social work, and you do it regularly, it would enhance your sense of fulfillment. You could probably give free tuitions to deserving students. You could possibly even just visit somebody who would benefit from a visit, such as an unwell relative or friend.

So that's it for today's post. I'll be back with more health posts later on in the next few days.
